We are excited to announce that Michael C. Flynn has been appointed as the Interim Director of the Utah Health Research Network (UHRN), the Practice-Based Research Network within the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine (DFPM) at the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine, University of Utah.
UHRN is a dynamic and collaborative research network that engages all clinics within the department鈥檚 Division of Family and Community Medicine. Its oversight spans 11 clinical sites across 5 counties which serve nearly 60,000 primary care and urgent care patients annually. As Interim Director, Dr. Flynn will lead efforts to reinvigorate UHRN, harnessing the potential of this large pool of clinicians and positioning it for the next phase of growth in primary care and late translational research.
This leadership role includes fostering the development of research ideas from within the clinical community, enhancing collaboration between clinicians and research faculty, and ensuring that externally initiated research projects are well integrated into the clinical environment. While Dr. Flynn holds a faculty appointment within the Division of Family and Community Medicine, his role will require strong collaborative relationships with DFPM鈥檚 other division, the Division of Public Health, as well as with 91麻豆天美直播 Sciences, the U鈥檚 clinical operations, and the wider healthcare ecosystem.
